  1. Grant O’Heir

Kitebud is fantastic and I’m glad I chose this school over others to learn to kite surf. I completed 6 lessons with Christian and the feedback from videos, comprehensive teaching of kite basics and safety learnings were great. The headsets are also a fantastic way to keep in contact with your instructor while out on the water. I now have the confidence in the water to go out and improve my skills learnt. Can’t wait to get better Cheers guys

  2. Jonno Lavis

Great learning experience! Coming as a complete beginner it was a lot to learn, but Christian and Sylvie are excellent instructors and can tailor the progression to suit any level. Starting with the safety elements to give confidence in the water dealing with various situations, all the way through to getting up and riding and onwards from there. I’m definitely not the fastest to progress but Christian adapted the training as required to help me progress. I’ll be back when I can and would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn to kitesurf check these guys out. Quality gear for all conditions and friendly patient coaching at a great location for all levels.

  3. Lucia Fekete

I have had 16h of lessons with Sylvie, and I’m terrified of the ocean, and a very slow learner, but she always took the time to explain things, her method of teaching is suitable for any level and for students with different abilities, she created a very calm friendly environment. They both are super good at what they are doing!I very much enjoyed my experience, the place is beautiful, they equipment is top notch, I highly recommend to go and learn from these guys, what a wonderful experience!

  4. Marlou Swanepoel

Definitely recommend KiteBud. Also the 12 hour package definitely worth it if you want to progress quickly. Equipment also very good with a good package deals.

  5. Nicolas Vanhoutteghem

My family and I are traveling through Australia. We stopped in Perth 6 days to visit some friends and learn how to kite. Chris and his team were incredible at accommodating all our needs and super flexible to ensure we got the best chance to learn how to kite within that short time window. I had the chance to train with all 3 instructors. Chris, Sylvie and ahn dao are friendly motivated and super pro teachers giving you quick and precise feedback in the beach, using videos and pictures, writing up reports daily all of which with a ton of positive energy. In 3 days, completely achieved my goal of riding that board for a bit. Totally worth it and highly recommended if you want to get into the sport. Thanks guys!

  6. Lee Patterson

I have had lessons with several kitesurfing schools across the Perth metro area. I finished these lessons feeling rushed and not having the confidence to continue independently.

When I went out by myself, I was scared and nervous. I had a few kite mares and in the end, gave up. I bought all the gear, which sat in my garage for over a year.

In the end, after a few recommendations, I decided on a package with Kitebud. I wish I had made this decision earlier. Christian’s approach is patient and methodical. He will not continue to the next step until he is confident you have understood and are comfortable with proceeding. This sounds obvious, but unfortunately many schools do not take this approach.

Similar to learning how to drive, there’s no point in venturing onto the freeway unless you know how to change lanes. This is a sport that cannot be rushed into and safety is paramount. Many people just want to rush straight to the waterstart stage and get up and riding and unfortunately, feel if they are not after a few lessons then they are not getting value for money. This results in an industry which is pushing students through a process without teaching them the critical skills to be independent and safe. I was a product of this industry, until I came across Kitebud.

I’m now happier than ever, going out by myself whenever the wind is up and confident in my kite handling skills – and more importantly what to do when things go wrong. I feel in control and can see myself progressing. I’m hooked. Kitebud was a life changer and I can’t recommend highly enough.

Just like the saying goes: forget the rest, stick with the best!
